The Digital Public Library of America is looking for excellent educators for its new Education Advisory Committee. We recently announced a new grant from the Whiting Foundation that funds the creation of new primary source-based education resources for student use with teacher guidance.
The South Carolina General Assembly passed new laws, beginning in 2015, requiring that South Carolina’s 11th grade students be administered new assessments: the ACT and the ACT WorkKeys. The State Department of Education has made full details of the testing plan available.

Middle School Multimedia History Project
Students in South Carolina’s eighth grade social studies classes are invited to participate in the first annual South Carolinians for the Common Good Multimedia History Project sponsored by The Ben Robertson Society of Clemson University. The contest is designed to help middle school students conduct historical research and craft persuasive arguments as they think about Palmetto citizens who have contributed to the common good.
