No time to attend on-site trainings that may require travel and a day away from your library?
Online trainings are the answer! These free, real-time trainings, offered by Gale, ProQuest (SIRS), and Britannica allow you to interact with the instructors, if you wish, and registration is quick and easy. Clicking the links will display their current training calendars.
A series of short tutorials is available to assist with using the Gale databases. The tutorials are designed to provide brief targeted instruction on searching for information and retrieving results from the Gale products in DISCUS.
Is there a staff development event planned for your institution where some DISCUS training would be helpful? If the answer is yes — and if a minimum of 20 people will be present — there may be a volunteer in your area who can conduct a presentation.
