Thomson Gale Adds Lexiles
Friday, 11 May 2007 10:15

May 11, 2007 -- Great news!  Many of the Thomson Gale databases provided by DISCUS now display Lexile reading level scores.  This new feature allows you to search content related to a defined reading level, which is especially useful for members of the South Carolina K-12 community.

Institutions that access the Thomson Gale databases through the DISCUS home page will see the Lexile reading level scores when retrieving search results.  The scores will appear as a part of the citations for magazines, academic journals and news sources, where available (reference content is not currently Lexiled).  The scores will also appear at the top of the Lexiled documents themselves.  Institutions that link to DISCUS resources individually through their library Web pages will need to turn on this optional feature through the IT configuration program.
