The South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) gathered in Greenville last week for its 37th annual conference, with a theme of Advocacy Starts with You @ Your Library. The SCASL conference provided many opportunites for professional growth, networking, and reflection on the role of school librarians in South Carolina.
DISCUS – South Carolina’s Virtual Library and the State Library were represented in the exhibit hall and in the breakout sessions. A major focus this year was to share information about the significant changes to the DISCUS collection that will take place in July.
As in the past, the DISCUS program asked for feedback from educators about the impact and use of the statewide electronic resources at their schools. Those who provided feedback were eligible to win a DISCUS mug. Congratulations to these lucky winners who can now sip a favorite beverage from their new insulated DISCUS mugs.
