Sept. 20, 2007 -- "DISCUS -- The Best Thing Since Instant Grits!" is the title of an instructional television (ITV) program featuring Penny Hayne of Lake Murray Elementary School and Judith Head of Irmo High School.

These two local media specialists appear as guest panelists in the ITV program that is designed to whet the appetites of viewers to use the high-quality subscription electronic resources in the library and the classroom and to encourage students to do the same. 

The program, which also features online demonstrations of the DISCUS resources, was produced by Instructional Television, a division of the South Carolina Department of Education’s Office of Technology, in partnership with the South Carolina Educational Television (SCETV) network.

The program can be viewed on Channel 304 at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and again on Tuesday, Oct. 2.  It is also available for online viewing in Educator +, the professional development site on Knowitall.org.
