Ruth Thompson and Carol RossNovember 6, 2007 -- DISCUS was a major player at South Carolina EdTech 2007, a statewide conference held Oct. 24-26 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.  Sponsored by the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET), the conference provided professional development opportunities for the state’s educational community to assist them in integrating technology into their instruction.

DISCUS staff delivered two presentations and spent lots of time talking to participants who stopped by the South Carolina State Library’s information booth in the exhibit hall.  Staff also encouraged participants to complete a “Give Us Your Feedback” form in return for a chance to win a few door prizes as a small token of our appreciation.

Amy Duernberger and Ruby PageFollowing are the five door prize winners from the EdTech conference:
· Kelly L. Knight of Woodmont High School in Piedmont;
· Charletha H. King of Roberts Middle School in Holly Hill;
· Vickie Norton of Doby’s Mill Elementary School in Lugoff;
· Mary Orem of Wren High School in Piedmont; and
· Jessica Felker of Nursery Road Elementary School in Columbia.

We received lots of great feedback from our patrons and appreciate all who took the time to complete the feedback form, attend our presentations and otherwise share their interest in and support for DISCUS.
